Mission: To educate, empower, and encourage all learners, that they may create a better tomorrow for themselves and our community.
The Alumni Center of Wyandotte High School, the first in any school in USD #500, was created with the idea of preserving the material history of the school in one place so that alumni of all eras: past, present, and future, would have a place to not only view the material, but to also donate their school memorabilia to share with all alumni of the school.
Momentos included in the room include trophies, yearbooks, diplomas, class rings and pins, clothing of all types [letter sweaters, cheerleading uniforms, letter jackets, etc.], rare photos, documents, stuffed and ceramic bulldogs, sports medals and other awards, student desks from the 1920's, science equipment, the PTA silver service used for receptions in the 1950's, photos of all Principals of the school, programs for plays, graduation, National Honor Society, banquets and more, and the two robes used each year in the Passing of the Robe ceremony...just to name some of the marvelous things present. This center was created for all alumni to enjoy and reminisce in about their school days gone by.
DONATIONS OF MEMORABILIA: The Wyandotte Alumni Center is requesting donations of ALL Wyandotte memorabilia, so that their legacy can be shared. If you have memorabilia to donate, and you live in the KC area, you can bring it by the school, or if you live outside the area, mail it to Craig Delich, P.O. Box 12211, Kansas City, KS 66112. [Note: you can make cash donations to the center as well.] For the donation, you will recieve a copy of "Wyandotte Memories" CD automatically.
